Different Types of Friends you have

This past year, I’ve made quite a few videos featuring my “roommates,” Jamie, Jessica and Jacklyn. I’ve had so much fun acting out each character, writing scenarios for them and editing them all together in the same scene. At the start of the year, I was making holiday themed videos featuring these three girls - one for Halloween, one for Christmas, one for New Year’s Eve (and post New Year’s Eve), and one for Valentine’s Day. But then I had a cool idea to make videos that would really showcase how different each character is. So, I started coming up with my series “Different Types Of Friends You Have” where each girl would interact separately with…….me! My first idea was actually the scenario from “Getting Over a Breakup.” I wanted to show how different types of friends can (fail to) help you get over a breakup. One would try to get you into online dating, the other would be clueless on how to help, and the other would be harsh but have the best advice. Then I thought it would be better to start off with a more casual scenario, like meeting up for lunch. That’s when I wrote the script for “Lunch with the Girls” and had a blast coming up with the most ridiculous things friends would say after not seeing each other for a long time. Jamie is the friend who does not stop talking and always turns the conversation to herself. Jessica is the type to be more reserved and have dull conversations. Jacklyn is the edgy one who always has wild stories to tell. My format for this video was perfect for editing since I didn’t need to do any masking. I kept up this format for three more videos, including my most recent one, “When Your Friend Is Sick.” This one was a bit trickier to shoot since I needed to have “physical contact” with each character at one point. I played around with the filming and editing and I hope it was believable enough in the end. I have a lot of fun making these “Three Girls” videos and I’d love to be able to play similar characters on TV or in films someday. For now, I’d love to just find my own personal videographer to do all the shooting for me (haha).
