A day in the life during quarantine

How’s everyone’s day going?

Throughout the year it felt like I had the same routine: wake up, use the washroom, eat breakfast, watch Netflix, try to do something productive, eat more food, then sleep. Every day felt so bland. That’s why I decided to make a film about it for the Ottawa Filmmakers Weekly Film Challenge. The theme was “Under 1 minute” and I thought it would be cool to make a compilation of clips that represent how my day goes, all in under a minute. I basically shot a bunch of “mundane” scenes, like flushing the toilet, brushing teeth, vacuuming, emptying dishwasher, and so on. This was also a good opportunity to test out my new Cine II camera lens. I gotta say, trying to focus with this lens was a CHALLENGE! But I did the best I could, and I enjoyed learning what my new gadget could do.

So here is my “Day in the Life in 2020-2021” video – winner of the Weekly Film Challenge for week 32. Who knew something so mundane could be so relatable (haha).
